Newsroom Panama: I wrote a series of articles about our 18 month trip in Latin America for this English-language newspaper published in Panama. The articles were published weekly in the Travel Section:
- A travel dream, part 1
- A travel dream, part 2
- The real Mexican Independence Day
- Learning Spanish the Guatemala Way
- Three Days in Heaven, Two Days in Hell: Sailing the San Blas Islands to Cartagena, Colombia
- The only risk is that you’ll want to stay: adventures in Colombia
- Getting off the gringo trail: traveling through Northern Peru
- Into the depths of hell: visiting a tin mine in Potosi, Bolivia
- The end of the road: a big milestone reached in Ushuaia, Argentina
- Seeing the soul of Uruguay: playing gaucho on a ranch outside of Tacuarembo
Drive the Americas: During our travels, we developed this wiki (with our close friends Tom and Kelsey of Joydrive) for roadtrippers driving in Latin America. Information on road conditions, border crossings, insurance, hotels, campsites, scams to avoid, and car shipping.
Developing Joomla! Extensions: We developed several websites during our roadtrip to extend our budget, including The Retirement Detectives and Newsroom Panama. In the process I learned HTML and CSS, and I am now learning PHP. I am currently developing a Restaurant Review Extension for Joomla!
